Prep School Round Up (January 12th)

Western Mass — All six varsity squash programs returned from winter break for the first week of 2006 squash.

The Williston boys lost a close match (3-4) to Kingswood Oxford on Friday night. The Wildcats got victories from Justin Klaubert, Rob Gilbert and Dave Fontaine. On Wednesday, the team lost to Suffield Accademy by a score of 1-6. Rob Gilbert was the first member of the team to post two victories in 2006.

On Saturday, the Berkshire girls recorded their first victory of the season with a 4-3 win over Hotchkiss. The team also avenged its opening loss of the season with a 5-2 win over Williston Northampton on Wednesday. In that match, Courtney Kollner and Isabel Flake each recorded 3-0 victories.

The Berkshire boys did not fair as well as the girls’ squad. The team lost 1-6 to Kingswood Oxford and 0-7 to Trinity Pawling on Saturday. The team remained winless with a 0-7 loss to Salisbury on Wednesday.

Friday, January 6th:
Kingswood Oxford defeats Williston Northampton (B), 4-3

Saturday, January 7th:
Kingswood Oxford defeats Berkshire (B), 6-1
Trinity Pawling defeats Berkshire (B), 7-0
Berkshire (G) defeats Canterbury, 4-3
Tabor defeats Deerfield (B), 6-1
Suffield defeats Deerfield (G), 7-0
Hotchkiss defeats Williston Northampton (G), 7-0

Wednesday, January 11th:

Salisbury defeats Berkshire (B), 7-0
Berkshire (G) defeats Williston Northampton (G), 5-2
Andover defeats Deerfield (B), 6-0
Groton defeats Deerfield (G), 7-0
Suffield defeats Williston Northampton (B), 6-1
