NESCAC and Men’s Team Tournaments
Published February 24, 2006 by Western Mass Squash | ArticlesWestern Mass — The Amherst and Williams squads traveled to Trinity for the NESCAC tournament. In addition, the men’s teams headed to Princeton for the annual team championships.
The NESCAC Tournament was abbreviated by typical New England winter weather. The Amherst men defeated Hamilton by a score of 8-1 before losing to Western Mass rival Williams. Williams also beat Colby, but lost the championship to Trinity by a score of 0-9.
Amherst’s women beat Tufts by a score of 7-2, but lost their remaining matches to Trinity, Colby, and Middlebury. Williams’ women shutout both Middlebury and Bates, but lost to Trinity.
Princeton hosted the annual men’s team championship. Amherst competed in the Hoehn Division (teams ranked 9 to 16). The Jeffs beat Bowdoin and upset Brown, but lost to Cornell. The team finished second in the division and tenth overall.
Williams competed in the Potter Division (teams ranked 1-8). The Ephs had a tough tournament and lost to Yale, UWO, and Dartmouth. The team finished eighth overall.
