2007 Women’s National Team Championship (Howe Cup)

Western Mass — Today the draws for the 2007 Women’s Nationals were announced by the College Squash Association. The tournament features the thirty-two college squash teams and is divided into four divisions (four cups). There is a Western Mass team in each of the divisions.

In the Howe Cup (A Division, top eight seeds), Williams is seeded seventh and will begin play on Friday at 5:30 against the University of Pennsylvannia.

In the Kurtz Cup (B Division, teams nine through sixteen), Mount Holyoke is seeded thirteenth. On Friday at 3 PM, the Lyons will open with twelfth-seeded Standford. Lily Lorentzen, Standford’s number one and last year’s top player in the nation, will be tough competition for Mount Holyoke’s Pam Anckermann.

Amherst is competing in the Walker Cup (C Division, teams seventeen through twenty-four). The Jeffs are seeded eighteenth and will face Connecticut College at 3 PM on Friday. Wellesley is seeded twenty-second and is matched up with Franklin and Marshall at 10 AM on Friday.

In the Epps Cup (D Division, teams twenty-five through thirty-two), Smith is seeded twenty-eighth. The Pioneers open with a match against Haverford at 3 PM on Friday.
