Tournament of Champions – Illingworth to face Lincou

New York, NY — On January 23rd through 29th, the 2009 Tournament of Champions is returning to Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station. The Professional Squash Association (PSA) tournament will feature 23 of the 25 top players in the world. Yale alum and US Champion Julian Illingworth, number 40 in the latest world rankings, received a wild card entry. He will face France’s Thierry Lincou in the opening round.
In preparation of the Tournament of Champions, below is a SQWeek.tv video featuring Illingworth. Unfortunately for Illingworth, New Yorkers fail to recognize his fame. Perhaps a victory over Lincou would make him a household name.
