Amherst and Williams visit UPenn
Published January 18, 2009 by Western Mass Squash | ArticlesPhiladelphia, PA — On Saturday, the highly ranked University Pennsylvania Quakers faced Amherst (M) and Williams.
In women’s action, Williams lost to number-two ranked UPenn by a score of 1-8. Only the Ephs’ Stephanie Barent defeated a UPenn player. In the key match of the day, undefeated number ones Kristen Lange (UPenn) and Toby Eyre (Williams) squared off. Last season, both Lange and Eyre were named First Team All Americans. Lange defeated Eyre in three games; however, the match was closer than it appeared.
On the men’s side, UPenn shutout Amherst and defeated Williams by a score of 6-3. The Ephs’ William Morris, Will Gruner, and Christian Henze recorded victories.
