Ithaca, NY — In its final match of the regular season, Mount Holyoke visited Cornell. The sixth-ranked Big Red defeated the Lyons by a score of 8-1.

Mount Holyoke’s top player, Pam Anckermann, earned the team’s sole victory.  After dropping the first game, she rebounded and won the next three games.  With the victory, Anckermann concluded the regular season with a 20-1 record. Last season, Anckermann concluded the season ranked 28th in the country.  Jennifer Gemmell, Cornell’s current third-ranked player, concluded the 2007-2008 season ranked 29th in the nation.  Of last year’s All-Americans (top twenty players in the nation), Anckermann only faced Williams’ Toby Eyre.  With strong team and individual tournament performances, Anckermann may earn All-American honors.
