Williams travels to Maine, Men upset by Bates

Brunswick, ME — On Friday, the Williams squads traveled to Maine to play Bowdoin, Bates, and Colby. Both the men’s and women’s teams shutout Bowdoin to begin the weekend. On Saturday, the 12th-ranked Bates men’s team upset sixth-ranked Williams 5-4. Bates won five of the top six ladder position matches. Against Colby, the Ephs adjusted their lineup, but still emerged victorious with a 9-0 victory. At the number three position, Williams’ Morgan Phillips defeated Amherst native and Williston Northampton alum Justin Russell in three games.

The Williams women beat both Bates and Colby on Saturday.
