2008 Yale Invitational

New Haven, CT — Over the weekend, Amherst participated in the Yale Invitational. The women’s team was shutout by host Yale, but rebounded with a 6-3 victory over Middlebury. At the number two position, senior co-captain Libby Martin propeled the Lord Jeff’s to victory by rallying from a 2-1 deficit to beat Middlebury’s Virginia Shannon.

Like the women, the men’s team was shutout by Yale. Franklin & Marshall, the 17th-ranked team in the country, beat the number 11th-ranked Lord Jeffs 6-3. Amherst rebounded by beating Middlebury 6-3.
