Yale Invitational Results

New Haven, CT — At the Yale Invitational, Mount Holyoke recorded 5-4 victories over 11th-ranked Bates and 12th-ranked Bowdoin. In all likelihood, these victories will elevate Mount Holyoke from its current five-way tie for 12th in the rankings to a higher position.

In the Bates match, Elizabeth Wright, Laurian Lue Yen, and Laura Robinson all won five-game matches. Laura Robinson’s victory was impressive considering the match score was 4-4 and she was down 0-2 before pulling out the 3-2 victory.

In the Bowdoin match, Pam Anckermann, Vidushi Gurunada, Menusha Hettiarachchi each recorded their second victories of the day. Number nine Hillela Simpson also recorded a victory. At the number four position, Laura Robinson played Katherine Gormley. In another tight match, Robinson won in five games to secure the victory.
