Western Mass Squash

Western Mass — This weekend, Thirteen of the thirty-three women’s college squash teams participated in the Smith/Mount Holyoke Invitational. The event was hosted at three sites across the Pioneer Valley - Smith, Mount Holyoke, and Amherst College - and teams traveled between the locations throughout the weekend. In total, 27 matches were held.

With the latest College Squash Association rankings unveiled prior to the opening of the tournament, the teams were eager to prove the latest poll wrong. The Mount Holyoke Lyons, the highest-ranked team in the event, dominated the tournament going 5-0. The Lyons beat Colby and Hamilton.

Colby, Hamilton, and Tufts are tied for thirteenth in the rankings. Colby defeated Hamilton by a score of 7-2, while Hamilton beat Tufts 6-3. The three teams will most likely be separated in the next team rankings.
