2008 Men’s National Team Championships - Sunday

Boston, MA — On the final day of the 2008 Men’s National Team Championships, Williams and Amherst each won their matches. In the Potter Division, Williams edged Dartmouth, 5-4, to capture seventh place in the tournament.
In the Hoehn Division, Amherst beat Franklin and Marshall, 6-3. The Lord Jeffs finished in fifteenth place.

2008 Little Three Championships

Amherst, MA — On Saturday, Amherst College hosted Wesleyan and Williams for the annual Little Three Championship. Dating back to 1905, the rivalry between these three schools is considered the oldest conference rivalry in college athletics.
Williams won won both the men’s and women’s events by going undefeated. Amherst finished second by defeating Wesleyan.

Hartford, CT — This weekend, Trinity College hosted the annual New England Small College Athletic Conference Squash Championships. The Amherst and Williams squads participated in the event.

Western Mass — Today, the College Squash Association released its second team rankings of the season. On the men’s side, Williams moved from 5th to 11th and Amherst moved from 11th to 15th.

Mount Holyoke and Amherst Visit Brown

Providence, RI — Today, Mount Holyoke and the Amherst women visited Brown, the ninth-ranked team in the nation. The Lyons’ top three players, Pam Anckermann, Vidushi Gurunada, and Menusha Hettiarachchi, recorded victories, but Mount Holyoke fell 3-6.

UPenn Visits Western Mass

Amherst and Williamstown, MA — UPenn traveled to Western Mass on Saturday. Against Williams, the Quakers won the men’s match 6-3 and the women’s match 8-1. Against Amherst, UPenn’s women won by a score of 9-0 and the men won 8-1.
