Vassar College Class of 1932 Squash Open

Western Mass — Last October, the Smith College squash team traveled to Poughkeepsie, NY, to watch the Vassar Class of 1932 Squash Open. Above is Smith College coach Tim Bacon’s video of the finals between Nathalie Grainger and Latasha Khan.

Today, the final women’s College Squash individual rankings for the 2007 - 2008 season were unveiled.

The College Squash Association’s Individual Championships continued today. In the round of 16 of the Holleran Cup Consolation draw, Smith’s Kate Whitesell defeated Wellesley’s Sarah Odell in five games.



2008 CSA Individual Championships - Friday

The College Squash Association’s Individual Championships began today. The Naval Academy is serving as this year’s host school. The women have two divisions - Ramsay Cup (A draw) and Holleran Cup (B draw). The men also have two divisions - Mallory Cup (A draw) and Potter Cup (B draw).



2008 Women’s National Team Championships (Howe Cup) - Sunday

Princeton, NJ — On the final day of the 2008 Women’s National Team Championships (Howe Cup), Williams defeated Cornell to capture the Kurtz Cup (B Division). Toby Eyre, Williams’ number one player, defeated Cornell’s Rachel Wagner in three games. The Ephs finished ninth in the tournament overall.

Princeton, NJ — On the second day of the 2008 Women’s National Team Championship (Howe Cup), Western Mass teams had mixed results. Williams College advanced to the Kurtz Cup finals with a 9-0 victory over Bates. The Ephs will take on Cornell in the finals on Sunday.

Northampton, MA — Today, Smith College hosted Wesleyan and Columbia on Senior Day. Smith College has five seniors graduating: Kate Whitesell (#1), Sara Smyth (#2), Huong Nguyen (#3), Julia Voorhees (#6), and Judy Liu (#7).
